John P. Farrell was chief navigator and third officer of the USS Saladin, under the command of John Russell.
In 2268, he was promoted to first officer of the USS Excalibur, just prior to wargames with the M-5 computer. He is no relation to the John Farrell who served on the USS Enterprise during the infamous Corbomite Incident and first contact with the First Federation.
John was killed in action on Stardate 4729.4, survived by his widow, Mei Ling. (Starship Saladin)
