Captain John Hayes, circa 2380
John Marshall "Jack" Hayes was a human Starfleet officer in the late 24th century. He was promoted to the rank of Captain in the aftermath of the Federation Civil War, and served as the commanding officer of the USS Asgard. (PDN: "The Significance of a Single Day")
Hayes attended Starfleet Academy from 2358 to 2362, and was friends with fellow cadet Timothy Sinclair. They later served together aboard the USS Cerberus, and were among the handful of survivors after that vessel's destruction near the galactic rim in 2364. In 2385, Hayes attended Sinclair's wedding to Mary Barranco on Pacifica. Afterwards, he was among the other captains present as guests who ventured into The Captain's Table for a round of drinks and stories. (PDN: "The Captain's Table: Cloud of Witnesses")
