Early Life[]
Melissa was born on February 21, 2134 (In Between Days: Intolerance, Together).
She was the fourth of six girls in her family. From an early age, she knew she was bisexual, but until 2159, her sole sexual experiences were with women (In Between Days: Together).
Starfleet[]
Melissa was with the Enterprise after the Xindi conflict. She worked as a pilot, often on the night shift (In Between Days: Together).
In 2158, she nearly died when a smallpox epidemic broke out on board, as a result of possible germ warfare (In Between Days: Intolerance).
First temporal dislocation due to pulse shot[]
When Hoshi Sato (mirror) ordered a pulse shot which altered time, the first temporal dislocation resulted in Melissa becoming desperate after her elder son, Tommy, was lost to the Mirror universe and her male lover, Douglas Jay Hayes Beckett, had departed in order to find their son, among others. Depressed, Melissa killed herself by shooting herself in the head with a phase bow on December 26, 2171 (In Between Days: Temper).
Second temporal dislocation due to pulse shot[]
During the second temporal displacement, Melissa reupped with Starfleet in 2166 (In Between Days:Temper).
Personal Life[]
She met Leonora Digiorno while the latter was vacationing on Ceres. Melissa was at the same bar with fellow pilots and beckoned the girl to join them. This occurred on May 11, 2157 (In Between Days: Fortune).
In August of 2159 she, along with Lili O'Day, Malcolm Reed, Doug Beckett, Jonathan Archer, Deborah Haddon, Hoshi Sato, Charles Tucker III, Travis Mayweather and Jennifer Crossman, was abducted by Witannen and Imvari agents working for the Zetal. Forced to breed in captivity, she was paired with Doug Beckett, and became pregnant as a result. This, along with other factors, was why the Becketts opened up their marriage (In Between Days: Together).
Later in life, she suffered from Irumodic syndrome, eventually committing assisted suicide with the help of Leonora Digiorno and Declan Reed, on March 27, 2209 (In Between Days: Fortune).
