Lieutenant Commander Bridget Rose Ingrum is the chief engineer of the USS Baldwin, wife of Baldwin captain Patrick Ingrum, and the youngest of seven sisters known as the "Wild Roses".

Personal History[]

Along with her sisters, Bridget was a product of a Cardassian project to create human agents. By hand, Dr. Alan Murrow created a series of human augments that are stronger, smarter, and would be able to integrate into human society. Because he was afraid of his creations turning on him, Dr. Murrow attempted to detach himself from their upbringing (USS Baldwin: "Drift off to Dream", "Departure"). She was only known as "Number Seven" until stardate 50964. Bridget picked out her own name from a list given to her by then-newly minted Captain Patrick Ingrum and joined the Baldwin crew. (USS Baldwin: "The Find").

She was granted a field commission (and a waiver of the genetic-engineering ban) on stardate 51081.5. She was a specialist in engineering (USS Baldwin: "Wartime Productions"). Eventually, she became the chief engineer.

Although it is unspecified in the story dialog, she apparently moved up to chief engineer after the previous chief engineer, Karen Merrill, assumed command of the USS Ticonderoga

In 2376, Bridget would serve as the field supervisor for cadet Dorian Collins. She would also become involved in a mission to investigate a planet controlled by Khan, leading to their capture. She was forced to face Khan in hand to hand combat and eventually took a rifle shot meant for Patrick. (USS Baldwin: "Evolution")

In 2378, Bridget engaged in a a mission to rescue Patrick from the Orion augment Malina, engaging Malina in hand-to-hand combat. During the fight, she manifested telekinietic abilities. (USS Baldwin: "Invisible Touch")

Augment Abilities[]

  • Enhanced Strength: Although she doesn't normally flaunt her strength, she estimates that her strength potential is ten times that of "normal" humans. She is capable of sending of sending a Jem'Hadar flying and can go toe-to-toe with Khan Noonien Singh and Malina (USS Baldwin: "Reaction to Action, Part 1, "Evolution", "Invisible Touch")
  • Enhanced Intelligence: Patrick observed that Bridget is a 'quick learner' and uses her knowledge to solve the issues that are presented to her. (USS Baldwin: "Frontiers")
  • Beauty: As the Cardassians had intended her to be able to infiltrate human society, she was engineered with facial features and a body type considered sexually attractive, although Bridget admitted that not everyone might necessarily be attracted to her. (USS Baldwin: "Blue Clear Sky")
  • Pheromone production: Possibly due to the presence of Orion DNA sequences, Bridget is capable of emitting potent pheromones, depending on her emotional state. Patrick felt that her pheromones usually had a calming effect on him, though she was also capable of triggering sexual arousal by controlling her pheromones. (USS Baldwin: "Family Affair")
  • Telepathy and Telekinesis: Her telepathic and telekinetic abilities manifested when she was in a heightened emotional state while fighting Malina. Her creator, Dr. Murrow, did not engineer her DNA with these abilities in mind. Her abilities also allowed her to push neural energy into a severely injured Patrick, stabilizing him until further medical treatment could be provided. (USS Baldwin: "Invisible Touch")
  • Orion green eyes: Bridget's irises are of a darker, more vibrant shade of green that is present (though uncommon) among Orions and generally not present in humans. When Bridget met an Orion woman with similar-colored eyes like her own, she figured that she could be just a teeny bit Orion. (USS Baldwin: "Bein' Green")

Roslyn has six sisters, Jessica, Amanda, Michelle, Katie, Valerie, and Roslyn. Neither Roslyn nor Bridget had heard from the other five sisters between 2374 and 2377. (USS Baldwin: "Drift off to Dream", "Like the Rain") Bridget gave birth to her first child, Tiana, on May 9, 2377, stardate 54000. (USS Baldwin: "Frontiers") and reunited with her five older sisters when they found them on a planet in sector 520 (USS Baldwin: "Wild Roses")

Patrick Ingrum[]

Bridget was immediately attracted to Patrick when they first met. Although Patrick liked the name she picked out for herself, it wasn't until stardate 53165 that they recognized their mutual romantic attraction (USS Baldwin: "Evolution"). Encouraged by their shipmates, Patrick and Bridget subsequently spent time together on Aloran IV. Soon afterward, Bridget and Patrick were married in Quark's on Deep Space Nine, briefly being interrupted when Baldwin XO Jaimie Petrelli promoted her in the middle of the ceremony (USS Baldwin: "Blue Clear Sky", "Boats to Build", "Drift off to Dream").

Bridget was very protective of her husband and could easily be angered if Partick was harmed. In 2378, Bridget helped her husband recover from serious injuries by forming a telepathic neural link. (USS Baldwin: "Invisible Touch") She would subsequently make sure that he properly followed up with Dr. Bratney regarding his injuries (USS Baldwin: "Bad Wolf")

Anna Ingrum[]

Bridget met her future sister-in-law while responding to a call by the USS Wildfire. The two quickly became friends, and Anna was happy that Patrick had found a mate. In fact, Anna had made a bet with Patrick that the Patrick and Bridget would have a family within a year, a prediction that came to pass when Bridget found out she was pregnant. (USS Baldwin: "Blue Clear Sky", "Boats to Build") Anna would serve as one of Bridget's bridesmaids. (USS Baldwin: "Drift off to Dream")

Mara[]

Mara, an independent Orion trader, was intrigued by Bridget's genetic background and her encounter with Malina. She was able to secure a lunch date with Bridget. By the end of their lunch, they had become fast friends. Bridget subsequently saved her life when she was rendered unconscious due to Voraxna poisoning by ensuring prompt medical attention from Baldwin's sickbay. (USS Baldwin: "Bein' Green")
