Bacari Jata was the navigator of the USS Grissom(NCC-638) in 2285.
Bacari Jata was born in Dakar, Senegal on Earth. Jata was fluent in several languages, Madinka, French and English. He served on the USS Gallant before been transferred to the Grissom. He was friends with William Bearclaw. (Star Trek: Grissom)
Jata was killed in 2285 when the Grissom was destroyed by a Klingon Bird-of-Prey. (Star Trek III: The Search for Spock)
