Summary[]

Act 1[]

Mandy Guilmain had a counseling session with Rikert, who previously wanted to apply to 23 medical schools. He started to cut Criminally Overpriced University from his list, and declaring Metro University to be his first choice. Mandy agreed to help Rikert prune his college list and run the financial aid calculators for Spoiled Rotten University, as well as Metro U and the University of Serafew, before he could write to his parents about medical school, to their delight. At this same moment, they learn that Rikert is part of the Nomad Experiment. When the time to write a first draft of the LIMCAS essay arrives, mandy complains about the essay being illegible.

Act 2[]

Upon arriving at Starbase 148, the zombies inside the Stoneship were beamed into the starbase's science laboratory complex, with Mijanou parting with the last survivor from the USS Toronto as payment. The bridge officers wondered who that person was, revealing that she was a Starfleet audiologist that practiced audiology in the Sarmizegetusa system. Brianna Reiss wanted to contact Starfleet Command about that discovery but the bridge crew was baffled about this request.

Act 3[]

Upon contacting the USS Akiraprise, Leonard seems amused by the fact the Lyrans were able to recover Julie Pawluck, realizing that the Toronto's final mission was to secure an alliance with the then-Lyran Democrative Republic during the Dominion War. Afterward, Rikert wrote a second draft of his essay on a computer, and later realizing that he was to complete the filling out of his application, finally announcing that he would apply at Metro University's MD/PhD program early decision. Brianna had the high school-aged kids in he sickbay for a Q&A session.

Act 4[]

Rikert debated the merits and drawbacks of applying early decision or early action, both single-choice and regular, as well as their financial aid implications. Hania suddenly wanted to become an audiologist and she wanted to undergo retraining so she could, one day, be part of Lyran Starfleet Medical's administration. She chose to apply single-choice early action at Eldeon University, and Julie is picked up shortly thereafter. Several weeks later, the Stoneship picks up a shipment of granite bound for Monastir and both healthcare hopefuls got into their first-choice schools.
