Ernesto Cruz was a human male who worked as a journalist on Earth for much of the 24th century. For much of his adult life, he resided in Mexico City with his wide, Juanita. The couple also brought up to children, Samuel (born 2342) and Jessica (born 2350).
Following Samuel's death at the Battle of Wolf 359 in 2367, Ernesto took a leave of absence so that he could grieve and help console his wife. Unfortunately, his wife developed a terminal illness shortly after, and Ernesto extended his leave so that he could care for his wife. Following her death in 2370, Ernesto eventually returned to his profession and began working for the Federation News Service. (Star Trek: Daedalus: "Ghosts")
