Erika Hernandez was the commanding officer of the Earth Starfleet starship Columbia (NX-02), taking command of the vessel in 2153.
Erika Hernandez was romantically involved with Jonathan Archer sometime prior to his command of the Enterprise. When he became her superior officer, they halted their relationship. (ENT: "Home")
Hernandez served aboard the Republic prior to taking command of the Columbia. (ENT: "Affliction") It was implied she was the Republic's first officer.
In 2154, while Archer was on stress-leave, Hernandez joined him, and the two briefly rekindled their relationship. (ENT: "Home")
Under her command, the Columbia assisted the Enterprise (NX-01) in stopping the spread of the Klingon augment virus. (ENT: "Affliction", "Divergence")
