A continent is a large land mass separated from other continents by large bodies of water (oceans or seas) or another geographical feature such as mountains.
On Earth, continents include:
Some geography sources combine Europe and Asia into one continent, and others include various other areas like Oceania as another continent.
The Atlantis project on Earth was charged with creating another continent on the planet. (TNG: "Family")
A continent on Guyra III was devastated by an orbital bombardment by a Hutet-class dreadnought during the Battle of Guyra. (Star Trek: Swiftfire: "Over the Horizon")
In an invasion of a Federation Class M planet during the Dominion War the Dominion landed troops in the north of the only major continent on the planet. (Star Trek: Swiftfire: "Section 214C")
The shuttle Brumby crashed on the southern continent of Caprius III in early 2375. The USS Annan then took a position over the continent and would later deny the USS Swiftfire-A from gaining orbit over the continent. The crew of the Swiftfire-A would later detect a significant explosion in a mountain range on the continent. (Star Trek: Swiftfire: "Crossfire")
