Cole Albert Porter was a famous 20th century American songwriter and composer, writing many musicals and songs with sophisticated lyrics, complex forms and clever rhymes.

Cantabrian commanding officer Noel Turner enjoyed music by Cole Porter. In 2372, when facing certain death after being infected by the Caldean Acute Cardiopulmonary Syndrome, Turner ordered the computer to play an upbeat Cole Porter tune during a mock party he and Counselor Scott Fack were having. The computer chose Porter's "Let's Do It, Let's Fall in Love". (Star Trek: The Cantabrian Expeditions: "Isolation")
