Class 3 neutronic fuel carrier

The Class 3 neutronic fuel carrier was a type of transport that saw service during the 23rd century. (Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan)

The Class 3 consisted of a narrow central spine with a small forward command module and a bulky aft engineering section. Four fuel tanks were attached to the ventral side of the spine. It also had additional cargo holds for other types of cargo. The Class 3 also had accommodation to transport up to 300 individuals, which some civilian operators used so to make planetary runs in addition to their fuel transportation. Variants used by Starfleet often lacked these facilities and were exclusively used as fuel transports. (Ship Recognition Manual, Volume 4: Starships of the Original Series Era)
