The Cheetah class was a Lyran cutter fielded in the 23rd century and the 24th century. It was initially used for patrol and police duties. (TOS video game: Starfleet Command)

History and variants[]

As a frigate, the Cheetah had plenty of firepower for a ship of its size. Its diminutive size, however, rendered it unfit for service during the heavy battles that followed its introduction. The base hulls were used to create the Alleycat war destroyer. (TOS video game: Starfleet Command)

It was downgraded to cutter by the 2380s, and the remaining units were refitted as freighters for use with sensitive, or small amounts of, cargo. A Cheetah was the first capital ship Brianna Reiss piloted and she did so in order to relieve Starbase 47 from a bread shortage, due to the crew of the Bouteina having eaten the bread supply of the starbase in two weeks. (RIS Bouteina: "Broken Bread")

Alleycat class[]

A smaller brother to the Jaguar, and later, the Pink Panther class, the Alleycat was converted up from smaller frigates. The disruptor refit (codenamed the P-refit by the United Federation of Planets at the time) was extremely rare; only a handful of Alleycats received it. (TOS video game: Starfleet Command)

Snow Leopard class[]

The Snow Leopard pushed the limits of an already heavily modified Alleycat hull. Like all "leaders", it was intended to be the most heavily armed unit in a squadron. Most of the refits were standard. (TOS video game: Starfleet Command)
