The Romulan rank of Centurion is approximately equivalent to Starfleet Lieutenant Commander. The Tal Shiar equivalent is Captain.

Centurion in the Romulan Star Navy was equivalent to a Starfleet captain.

In the Romulan Ground Forces, a centurion was a rank above major and below general making it roughly equivalent of a colonel in other militaries. (The Dominion War Sourcebook: The Fires of Armageddon)

The Dominion War Sourcebook: The Fires of Armageddon also lists colonel in the place of centurion in the RGF's rank structure.

Three grades of Centurions existed (Starfleet equivalent in brackets):

• Enarrain/Senior Centurion (Lieutenant Commander; most senior)
• Arrain/Centurion (Lieutenant)
• Erei'Arrain/Sub-Centurion (Lieutenant Junior Grade; most junior)
