Beta Thoridor II was the site of a secret Rakelli base. During 2385, the planet was attacked by the Alliance. It was later a Federation research station jointly run by the Alliance and the Rakelli.

The planet has not developed any intelligent life so the Rakelli colonists are the only political power on Beta Thoridor II.
