It was a small planet situated outside its systems ‘habitable zone’. Its surface was barren with little vegetation. It was also wracked by storms that could last for months at a time. It had a low gravity and a thin atmosphere composed mostly of carbon dioxide, with small amounts of oxygen, argon and fluorine.
Despite these hostile conditions the humanoid Benzenites were able to evolve on the planet. They, for the most part, were confined under its surface where they were sheltered from the storms and there was a more readily available source of food.
