Bajoran system

The Bajoran system (also referred to as the Bajor system or the B'hava'el system) is a star system located in the Alpha Quadrant. The system contained fourteen planets, including the homeworld of the Bajorans, Bajor. The system was also the sight of the only known stable wormhole discovered by the Federation during the 24th century.

For forty years the system was occupied by the Cardassian Union after it annexed Bajor. In 2369, the occupation ended and the system regained its independence. The Federation was given a presence in the system after it was asked by the Bajoran government to administer the space station, Deep Space 9. (DS9: "Emissary")

In 2373, the Dominion attempted to destroy the system by blowing up the systems star. The attempt was foiled by the crew of the USS Defiant. (DS9: "By Inferno's Light")

The system was occupied by the Dominion for several months during the Dominion War after it drove Starfleet forces from the system. The Dominion was eventually driven from the system by Operation Return. (DS9: "Call to Arms", "Favors the Bold", "Sacrifice of Angles")

The Federation Alliance gathered a vast fleet in the system prior to the invasion of Chin'toka. (DS9: "Tears of the Prophets")

In late-2375, the Alliance again gather a massive fleet within the system for the final push towards Cardassia Prime that eventually led to the end of the Dominion War. (DS9: "What You Leave Behind")

In 2376, Bajor joined the Federation and the system became Federation territory. (DS9 novel: Unity)
