The Aurelians were a bipedal, avian race belonging to the United Federation of Planets from at least the 23rd century, who have served in a variety of roles through the Federation. They shared a strong physical resemblance with the Skorr. (TAS: "Yesteryear", "The Jihad")

Though they have wings and feet resembling talons, their general form is humanoid. Feathering has been observed in a variety of colors, from the solid yellow of historian Aleek-Om to the black-and-grey pattern of Starfleet ensign Ngaer. The extent to which Aurelians are capable of sustained flight in Earth-normal gravity is unknown. (TAS: "Yesteryear", Star Trek: Sigils and Unions--The Thirteenth Order)

Clothing is not worn in Aurelian culture; nor is there any evidence of their being required to do so on other worlds. (TAS: "Yesteryear", The Thirteenth Order)

Notable Aurelians include historian Aleek-Om, whose studies included an encounter with the Guardian of Forever, USS Sojourner chief engineer Lieutenant Commander Repha'zoh, and Ensign Ngaer, who after being shot down en route to her first posting at Deep Space Nine, ended up serving in the joint Cardassian-Starfleet Thirteenth Order instead, where she gave her life to protect her fellow soldiers, both Federation and Cardassian.
