Archer University was a regional university system in the state of New York, in North America on Earth. (Star Trek: Avenger: "Nearly a Valediction")

On the centenary of Jonathan Archer's birth in 2212, the State University of New York system was renamed Archer University in honor of the storied space explorer and diplomat.

While many of its students chose to matriculate at the school via distance-learning, some preferred a mix of virtual and in-person lecture and laboratory coursework. Archer University's in-person campuses were in municipalities that included Albany, Binghamton, Buffalo, Cortland, Oswego and Purchase upstate, and Stony Brook on Long Island.

The graduate medical schools were at Albany and Stony Brook, and each was affiliated with a local teaching hospital.

In 2298, Iwan Alvarez considered attending university at Archer's Stony Brook campus since it was physically near to where he was raised, but chose Starfleet Academy instead. ("Nearly a Valediction")
