Aboard the Cantabrian, the arboretum was located on Deck 14. Captain Noah Wrightson, an avid gardener, cordoned off a section of the arboretum for his own personal use, calling the space the Captain's arboretum. In this space, he grew dahlias and other flowers, as well as manuka, Pōhutukawa and other New Zealand natives. His private arboretum was located on Deck 14, Room 1827.
