Ancient Horrors is the sixteenth episode of Star Trek: The Stoneship Files.

Summary[]

Act 1[]

While discussing ways to destroy Beta-23, Brianna Reiss and Fariss bring up tricks to destroy Jem'Hadar ships, and why Brianna intended to have phased plasma torpedoes onboard her ship for the mission. They also watched the report of USS Valiant's engagement against a Jem'Hadar battleship, when they realize that Brianna's plan may not work as intended; Urie asked her commanding officer to refine the plan. She had a chance to do so on Starbase 47 (Lyran)'s bridge.

Act 2[]

The other commanding officers in the 100th Tactical Wing get to hear the plan to fight the U'lanna-built battleship, later departing for the Xita system, after properly outfitting each ship with the equipment required for extended combat missions. Before the battle could begin, however, Brianna assembled her bridge officers in the mess hall for a pre-battle feast, where she exhorted the crew to savor that moment, fearing that they may never live another moment like that again.

Act 3[]

When the battle begins, three Jem'Hadar attack ships flew towards the massed fleet, when Longclaws fired an omnidirectional disruptor towards one of them, forcing it to break off the formation, while being targeted by dozens of Pouncer-class fighters, ultimately destroying a fighter. By sheer numbers, the other two fighters were quickly dispatched and then the main engagement began, with the Stoneship going to warp in order to get underneath the ship, getting a polaron torpedo shot before firing the PPTs after dropping out of warp.

Act 4[]

After the antimatter storage system's primary support braces are destroyed, Jem'Hadar zombies boarded the Stoneship and the security personnel started engaging the enemy while getting pulse polaron rifle shots, prompting the sickbay into action and taking 47 injuries. The Rigsby, loaded with hundreds of zombies, then targets the battleship, ramming it and both ships are destroyed. While tending to the wounded afterward, Rikert put some patients through a magnetic resonance imaging with a newly-activated EMH, Blythe.

Act 5[]

Realizing that it will take them five days to repair the ship, which suffered damage like dents in the corridors and disabled tractor beam, as well as an inoperative expanding sphere generator, the crew finds it best to stay in the system until all damage has been repaired, even with a full morgue. Meanwhile, Mandy Guilmain, Lisunia and Blythe accept to discuss matters related to medical education with Rikert, including MD/MSC and MD/PhD programs, as well as applying to that sort of programs.
