Aloran IV is a class M world located near the Badlands, and was home to a Federation colony.
By 2374, the colony had been abandoned due to border hostilities in advance of the Dominion War. The parents of Patrick and Anna Ingrum were killed in a Jem'Hadar attack. After the attack, Patrick went to Aloran IV to evacuate his family's personal belongings. While preparing to leave the planet, he discovered Bernie Tyler and his girlfriend Roslyn had crashed on the surface of the planet. He also discovered the USS Baldwin cloaked in orbit. Patrick would become captain of the Baldwin, and Bernie and Roslyn would become part of his crew. (USS Baldwin: "The Find")
After the war, Patrick would return to Aloran whenever he wanted to "get away from it all." He went there to complete the cloning process that ultimately revived Sara Jackson. (USS Baldwin: "Infinity") He went back with his then-girlfriend Bridget in late June of 2376 so that they could spend some time together as a couple. (USS Baldwin: "Blue Clear Sky") They would return a year later, now married and with a daughter, Tiana, to celebrate Patrick's birthday and to spend some time together as a family without worrying about current events.
