Alice Covaks was a Starfleet officer during the 26th century who served in the Federation Civil War, and later as the captain of the USS Enterprise-K. (Star Trek: Broken Pieces)

Early Life and Starfleet Academy[]

Alice was born on board the USS Edo while her mother Kelsey Covaks was serving as the ship's captain. From an early age, she showed an interest in engineering and piloting, learning from some of the best of the Federation before she even entered Starfleet Academy.

Upon entrance into the Academy, she learned quickly, having learned most of her studies already from her time on board starships. She found a Delta Flyer type shuttlecraft in a junkyard, and bought it off of the owner, and restored the old shuttle, naming it the Dawn Eagle. She graduated just as the Federation Civil War was beginning, and was assigned to the USS Galahad.

The Federation Civil War[]

It didn't take long for Alice to be promoted, the Civil War made the Federation desperate for commanding officers, and she quickly rose through the ranks to be made captain of the USS Tripoli. When the invasion of the Sol system by the Vulcan Imperium began, the Tripoli was one of two ships sent out to make an appeal to the Romulans and the Klingons, the Tripoli arrived at Rator III and convinced the Romulan Senate to send aid to the Sol system, arriving just in time to push back the invading Vulcans.

The Tripoli would later participate in the battle of Draevok IV, and was destroyed in the battle. Out of a last desperate act, Alice ordered the crew to abandon ship, and set the Tripoli on a collision course with the Terra Federation flagship, just barely escaping on board the Dawn Eagle. The shuttle was badly damaged, and later salvaged by a Ferengi trader named Tor and purchased by Alice after she retired.

Coming out of retirement[]

For 5 years after the end of the Civil War, Alice was content to retire from service in Starfleet, saying that she had seen too much combat during the war. She was convinced by Typhoon Cobra however to come out of retirement, and was made captain of the USS Enterprise-K.
