Alfred Detweiler was a human male active in the Federation Starfleet in the early 25th century. (Bait and Switch)
Biography[]
Detweiler had a husband and three teenage children who lived on New Leipzig.
By 2405 he was commanding officer of USS Kagoshima and held the rank of captain. He counseled Lieutenant (JG) Kanril Eleya, his second shift weapons officer, that she should continue taking command classes over subspace radio while aboard. ("From Bajor to the Black, Part II")
On 17 January 2407, Detweiler was killed along with most of his senior staff when Kagoshima's bridge was struck by a Borg cutting beam during the invasion of Vega IX. Kanril Eleya assumed command of the ship and later notified his family of his death. ("The Universe Doesn't Cheat", "From Bajor to the Black, Part II")
