Chief Petty Officer Alan Eyler (also known as Alan, son of K'Ranok) was a Starfleet crewperson and SEAL team member aboard USS Pendragon in the late 24th century. (Star Trek: Pendragon)

History

Early life

Born on Planet Q in 2347, Alan and his elder brother Austin were among the few survivors when the Cardassians destroyed the colony in 2351. The boys were rescued by Captain K'Ranok of the IKS Kerla and adopted into the House of K'Ntral.

Alan and his brother were raised as Klingons on the colony world of Korvat. When K'Ranok defeated a Romulan fleet (even after losing his leg in the battle), he was promoted to sector commander and the boys accompanied him to his new post as commanding officer of the Klingon Defense Force contingent on Sherman's Planet, a joint Federation-Klingon colony.

Despite being in the company of humans once again, Alan preferred the company of the Klingons, though his brother did not. However, he did befriend at least one of the human colonists, Ryan Dicker.

When Alan reached his thirteenth birthday, he went through the First Rite of Ascension, and declared his intention to become a warrior.

Service

At the age of fifteen, Eyler enlisted in the Defense Forces and saw combat against the Romulans and the Cardassians. His career came to a halt, however, when his brother joined the Orion Syndicate, thereby dishonoring their House. (Star Trek: Pendragon: Building Camelot)

Drummed out of the Defense Forces, Alan enlisted in Starfleet. While training at Starfleet Academy, he was reunited with Ryan Dicker, and became close friends with Cadet Joanna Barranco.

In 2367, He attended the Advanced Tactical Training Program with Dicker, where he was taught by Lieutenant Timothy Sinclair. The following year, he entered the SEAL training program. (PDN: "Wanderers, Seekers, Warriors, Thinkers")

Alan spent the next fifteen years as a SEAL NCO, rising to the rank of Chief Petty Officer by 2384, when he was assigned to SEAL Team Alpha-6 aboard the USS Pendragon. (PDN: "Dragon's Gambit")
