The 849th Marine Strike Group was a marine strike group — in the Second Battalion of the Starfleet Marine Corps Sixth Brigade — embarked on the Akira-class heavy cruiser USS Saint George during at least the last quarter of the 24th century.

The nickname of the 849th was "The Snow Ninjas". The unit motto — by Thomas Paine — was "Those who expect to reap the blessings of freedom must, like men, undergo the fatigue of supporting it."
