The 2380 Interstellar Concordium Pacification War took place in March and April 2380. The war was declared by the United Federation of Planets because a group of rebel ISC military leaders with high standing had taken control of the government and had threatened to pacify all war in the Alpha Quadrant and Beta Quadrant with the ISC military. The war was short lived, with only two major battles, and only medium damage was sustained on the various sides. (Star Trek: Unity)
Background
For several years, the council of the Interstellar Concordium had been disbanding the military piece by piece in order to make up for the terrible occurrences during the original pacification campaign. Since the Dominion War, the local galactic powers had been in an economically exhausted condition and it was highly unlikely that any power would be in a viable position to start another war for at least half a decade. Therefore, the ISC had decided to decommission all but a small number of their military fleet and mothball the ships. Many members in the ISC took this as a sign that the Concordium had no real purpose in this galaxy any more, and many disputed the fact that the likelihood of conflict was low.
Civil war
Eventually, some high ranking (but retired) military leaders decided that action had to be taken to pacify the small wars and conflicts that were slowly destroying the civilisations in the galaxy. These retired commanders, who still had considerable military power staged a coup and took over the government council on ISC Prime with assistance from loyal members of the Interstellar Concordium Pacification Army.
