• The USS Farragut encounters a dikironium cloud creature near Tycho IV. Two hundred crewman, including Captain Steve Garrovick, are killed during this encounter. The Farragut manages to reach Starbase 16 and is later refitted. (TOS: "Obsession"; Starship Farragut)
• Deep Space Station B-5, a diplomatic and trading outpost in the Euphrates sector, becomes operational. Commodore Jeffrey David Sinclair is appointed as her commanding officer. (Star Trek: Pendragon)
